4 Foods for a Flat Stomach

Most people, whether they are into fitness or not, would love to have tight muscles and a flat stomach. As we get older, it seems like a flat stomach becomes harder and harder to obtain. Along with exercise, a flat stomach can be achieved through a mix of foods. After all, many people claim that abs are actually made in the kitchen, not in the gym. Eating right can do a lot for losing the belly fat and revealing the hidden muscles underneath. Here are some great foods for losing the flab and gaining the abs you’ve been searching for.

Eggs. Eggs are a great source of protein and amino acids. The combination has many fitness and diet professionals raving about their health benefits. It’s also been proven that eating eggs for breakfast will help you feel fuller all day long. Plus, eggs are easy to whip up, versatile, and an excellent way to start the day.

Apples. Ever heard the expression an apple a day keeps the doctor away? Of course you have, and for good reason. Apples are an excellent source of fiber and water. Both of these will help you feel fuller longer and will also help to flush the body of excess. The fuller you feel, the less you’ll eat resulting in a lower caloric intake and improved overall weight loss. And of course flushing the body of toxins keeps the digestive tract moving which is another key in a healthy body.

Almonds. These little nuts are a great snack, as they are full of protein, fiber, and antioxidants. They will help you feel fuller, keep your blood sugar levels balanced, and help to produce energy. Almonds probably won’t make you a meal, but they are excellent for a quick snack or a way to flavor other foods.

Greens. This is specifically talking about leafy greens like lettuce and spinach. These green foods are extremely low in calories and yet help you to feel fuller, making for an excellent low-cal meal. Leafy greens can be a main staple, a side dish, or even a snack. They can be mixed with lots of other healthy foods (like almonds!) or can stand alone. They are a great versatile food that will help rid you of excess weight and reveal the muscles underneath.

If abs are made in the kitchen, then these foods will give you a great head start. Stock your kitchen with healthy meals and snacks, and your body will thank you in the long run. A flat stomach is not impossible, and having a plan can get you there in no time.
