Fighting for Fitness: 3 Feisty Workout Routines

If you want a great body, you have to be willing to fight for it. You’re definitely not going to turn into a Victoria’s Secret angel overnight. Getting fit takes focus, determination, and a willingness to really fight for what you want. Since most of us are not actually trying to walk the catwalk, you also want your workout routine to be a lot of fun.

For a fun way to get in peak condition, check out these three feisty workout classes to add to your regular routine.

Kickboxing

This is a class where you will literally fight for a great body. Kickboxing is a combat-based class that will teach you a variety of kicks and punches to have your body fit in no time. Along with a toned body, you’ll also learn the invaluable tool of self-defense. This class is truly a win-win situation for everyone. Most of the time, this class can be found at your local gym. The classes are intense, challenging, and a ton of fun.

Boot Camp

Though this is not the same type of fighting as kickboxing, you will absolutely have to fight your way through the entire routine. Boot camp classes can be found in almost every community and in a vast majority of gyms. So what can you expect? You’ll likely experience a combination of cardio such as running, bodyweight moves such as push-ups and squats, and weighted exercises performed with dumbbells. It will be fast-paced and ridiculously challenging, but the pain is short-lived. Most boot camp sessions last between four and eight weeks before giving you a break before the next round.

Hot Yoga

This class will have you fighting for air! This is a form of yoga done in a steamy hot room. The temperature generally hovers around 105 degrees, and the humidity stays high throughout the entire routine. Most beginners find themselves lightheaded, and may have to lie on their mat for part of the workout. It’s important to listen to both your doctor and your body when engaging in this workout, as the hot temperatures and high humidity can be dangerous when you’re not careful.

Getting super fit is not an easy task and is definitely not for the faint of heart. That doesn’t mean, though, that it can’t be a lot of fun. Check one or all of these classes in your community and fight your way to the best shape of your life.
