If there’s a day when you can’t hit the gym, there are still things you can do to keep healthy, stay in shape and get your endorphins up. Check out these great tips:
1. Drink Some Green Tea
Green tea has a multitude of health benefits, and helping us to feel alert is one of them. If exercise is what gets your energy up in the morning, but you just don’t have time to do so, drink some green tea instead. You can have one cup in the morning, then another come early afternoon. Try to stop all caffeine consumption by 3 PM so that you don’t have trouble sleeping that night.
2. Be Mindful Of The Way You’re Eating
In order to properly digest your food and help to keep you from overeating, try to eat slower and chew your food completely, swallowing it before shoveling more of it into your mouth. When you do this, your body can absorb even more nutrients and you will be able to register when you’re full faster.
3. Make A To-Do List
When you’re being productive throughout the day, you will feel better about not getting to the gym. So make a to-do list for yourself and knock off the things that you have to get done that day or that week. Prioritize your list in order of importance. By doing what you don’t want to do, you can reduce your stress and anxiety.
4. Listen To Upbeat Music
Exercise can often boost your mood, but when we don’t have time to do it, listening to upbeat music can do the job almost as well. Music even has the ability to reduce our blood pressure and stress levels, much like working out can.
